CAN THEY BREAK UP? DON'T THEY CONTAIN GLASS?

The most trustable and the ones with longest duration do utilize a glass overlay. Normally, the glass is temperate glass with low iron content and layered with plastic. This making is very long-lasting. But if it receives a strong impact, it will break. If the glass is splintered or drilled, the module might fail within time because water will penetrate solar cells and these will be eroded.  Years might go by before the module fails completely (not generating energy). On the oher hand, if the module is damaged in a way that the 2 electric connections are cut between any pair of cells, current will not break through and the module will not generate anything.
